Thanks to the travel restrictions from Covid, the only remedy we had for our lovesick of pub crawls in Ireland or live bands under Bali sunset was over the Netflix. Meanwhile, we still dream of real festivity—on a beach enjoying a craft beer perhaps—that will revive our real spirits that we have lost since the lockdown.

For anyone particularly missing that thrill a holiday brings, don't worry because Noosa Heads is ready and waiting to sweep away your pandemic blues. Bringing epic live music, mouth-watering food and that sweet feeling of sand between your toes, Noosa introduces The Noosa Festival of Surfing from the 15th of May to the 23rd of May this year!

The Noosa Festival of Surfing

Last November, The Noosa Festival of Surfing was announced to be going to go ahead, paired with Heads of Noosa Brewing Co., situated at the end of Hasting Street. As you can tell by its name, the festival hosts surfing competitions of all men and women from 15 to 70 years old, and the event even gets better with a dog surfing competition! For those people who are looking little bit more than just surfing, an outdoor bar, positioned on a sun-drenched beach, with your favourite drinks and live music will be set up to suit all taste of holiday-lovers! Go for a swim in the rolling waves, dry, and then kick back and sip on some scrumptious cocktails whilst watching the sun set over the crystal blue waters.

This year is a bit special year for the event, as it hit the big 30-year anniversary! To celebrate 30-year anniversary, anyone who have missed party spirits is invited to the epic beach party. The party will be first in, best dressed, hosted at the renowned beach bar, Noosa Solbar, from 4 to 8pm—perfect time to enjoy crispy beers and canapes under sunset! Join with the surf competitors and spectators who have all come to celebrate the festive event at the 10-day pop-up beach bar. Feel like a beer, wine, or cocktail in hand? No worries, they’ve all got it! There also will be live entertainment and a silent auction to raise money for SURFAID, an international charity working in the Mentawai Islands of Indonesia.

I’m directing this at all fun-lovers, wanting to let lose without shoes and lounge around in bikinis and boardies. The Noosa Festival of Surfing is free, however, the ticket for the opening night party will set you back $160, which gets you an all-inclusive canapes and drinks menu catered by the world class Ohana Group and Phresh Oystered with a selection of Heads of Noosa beers and much more. The bar will also consist of live entertainment, live streaming of the event, surf films, art shows and much more. So don’t hesitate and come to Noosa to revive your inner festival spirits!
